After being away for 6 months from my beloved Playa del Carmen, it is a great thing to return. I am happily surprised in typical Mexican fashion that things are slower to hit here and that means that here we not so affected by the tumultous economic times as in the states. Yes the peso has lost value but in real estate we have people buying and selling and prices do not seem to have been drastically reduced.
I have been busying myself with looking at all the new condo projects and aquiring beach front property as listings. Such beautiful lots in Playacar and Puerto Aventuras are at a premium as they are the last available but still good value being so perfectly placed in the heart of the Riviera Maya.
Downtown Playa still has its flavor from touristy souvenir shops on the one end of 5th ave ( essential to any Mexican tourist town) to the up -trend little Italy. Its is all good and I am enjoying exploring the beaches and 5th avenue from the eyes of a new comer. I am reminded why Playa is such a cool town and why people love to live here playa here and invest in condos and beach property here.
Here is my favorite project pick of the week: Beach front, large condos, penthouses have roof top deck and ground floor condos have private large dipping pool, as well as a beach club, on a golf course, 10 minutes from Playa. Prices from 479k
